What will you learn?

This course is designed to develop your expertise in digital forensics. Among others, you will learn to:

  • Examine relevant privacy laws pertaining to digital forensics
  • Define data to be recovered and evaluating and selecting digital forensic tools
  • Acquiring defined forensic data from storage media

How is the course structured?

All learners will be assessed through the combination of the following:

  • Questioning may include self-assessment, verbal answers, written questionnaires, activity modules or interview
  • Structured activities may include projects, case studies, presentations, role play, demonstration, progressive tasks

What are the entry requirements?

There are no pre-requisites to enter this training program. However, CBIT Academy screens students according to the following criteria:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have sound language and literacy skills (at least Year 12 English, or equivalent)*
  • Must have computer literacy skills
  • Must have access to a computer or laptop with internet speed of at least 5mbps
  • Must have access and knowledge to operate video-communication services (e.g. Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams)

*Students who do not meet the LLN requirements of the course may still be enrolled if endorsed by the trainer/assessor, and corresponding additional support strategies are in place.

  • MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel or equivalent applications
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader or equivalent application
